Sliabh Beagh: The Countryside Code
NOTES FOR VISITORS
Please follow the Countryside code
1. The representation on these maps of a road, track or footpath, is not evidence of a
right of way.
2. Respect the people who live and work in the countryside. Know where you are allowed to go and keep to the paths.
3. Many monuments are in private ownership, without any public right of way access. Landowners are, in the main, co-operative and readily give directions and permissiiion for access. It is illegal to disturb, in any way, the fabric or make-up of any monument.
4. Please respect private and public property, taking care not to damage crops, walls and fences. Do not interfere with livestock, machinery and crops. Dogs should be kept on a lead and gates should always be left as there were found. Use gates and styles to cross fences, hedges, and walls. Protect wildlife, trees and plants. Keep all sources clean. Take your litter home. Guard against all risk of fire.
5. Respect other recreational users. Take special care on country roads. Consider you personal safety.
6. While visiting sites of religious significance, please respect the rights of worshipors by keeping noise to a minimum.
